Atsuko Kawada (川田 あつ子, Kawada Atsuko, born 10 August 1965 in Tokyo, Japan)[1] is a Japanese actress, model and singer. Kawada is also the author of a novel.
Life and career
[edit]She attended Meiji University Nakano Junior and Senior High School before transferring to Tokyo Municipal Yoyogi High School, where she graduated.[citation needed]
In 1981, Kawada appear in the Shueisha "Miss Young Jump" Grand Prix.[2] She becamhe appeared as a regular on the TBS television show Tanokin Zenryoku Tokyu. She made her singing debut with Secret Orgel (秘密のオルゴール, Himitsu no Orugōru), released in 1982 by CBS Sony.[3] The song was used in a commercial for House Foods. That same year, she made her acting debut with the main heroine role in the TBS drama Ningen Banji Saiō ga Hinoe Uma (人間万事塞翁が丙午).[4][5] She later appeared in various TV productions.[6][7][8][9][10] Kawada also appeared in films such as The Discarnates[11] (1988).
Kawada published her novel Rain: Nemurazaru Machi (RAIN～眠らざる街～) through Kosaidō in 1996: the book was made into a film later that year[12]. In 1999, she married , Yūrei Yanagi.[3] In recent years, she has worked with her husband producing short films, and for Last Scene, a talent management firm.[citation needed]
