- Note: I changed my vote after I cleaned up the article and made it's content more accurate. LipChick01 22:01, 28 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- Note: changing your vote to keep without putting a note to say that it has been changed doesn't alter the fact that you nominated this article for deletion. -- Graham :) | Talk 13:03, 28 Apr 2004 (UTC)

- Keep, nothing to indicate why she should be deleted. RickK 02:29, 25 Apr 2004 (UTC)
Keep - she wrote the novel American Beauty that American Beauty (1999 movie) is based off of, makes her a notable author by my reckoning. -- Cyrius|✎ 02:50, Apr 25, 2004 (UTC)- Keep, certainly. Everyking 04:29, 25 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- Not famous? Have you actually looked at the article? Keep, definitely. -- Graham :) | Talk 21:57, 25 Apr 2004 (UTC)

- Keep. I fail to see why this was nominated for deletion in the first place. - Lucky 6.9 23:28, 26 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- I know why, because User:Sharon Wolfe who created the Rachel Clemons vanity article above (voted unanimously for deletion) and User:LipChick01 are the same person. I have no proof of that of course, just strong intuition. -- Graham :) | Talk 00:54, 28 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- Ah, ha! More sour grapes. BTW, scroll up and check out the fake time stamp from "Sharon Wolfe" in the "Rachel Clemons" article. I have a feeling that I share your strong intuition, Graham. - Lucky 6.9 03:59, 28 Apr 2004 (UTC)

LipChick was right. The book by Banner called American Beauty has nothing to do with the movie of the same name. The movie was written by Alan Ball. However, my vote is still to keep this article. RickK 05:32, 28 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- It seems there's some misinformation in American Beauty (1999 movie). Now corrected. -- Cyrius|✎ 12:30, Apr 28, 2004 (UTC)
- In case anyone's wondering, Lois Banner's book American Beauty is a "study of the history of the culture of beauty in the United States" (Banner's words). Kind of hard to look it up, as almost all the hits are in the "list of other works" at the end of articles about her or her other books. -- Cyrius|✎ 12:36, Apr 28, 2004 (UTC)
- Yes, keep, it looks like a decent article. Dysprosia 05:38, 28 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. I removed the amazon.com references since it was borderline ad-related language. The article should be confined to informing readers about the subject, not telling them specifically how to buy books. It's too much of an endorsement that way. Alcarillo 07:44, 30 Apr 2004 (UTC)
