Marked for Deletion
[edit]This article itself is useless. Fachhochschule covers the important information. Listing the differents kinds of Fachhochschule in the main article would be nice not to speak of a List of Fachhochschulen. --134.2.12.48 15:08, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
Now wait a moment, each school has its own speciality. The English version is just short, the German version is quite explicit. I'll see what I can do to clean it up. --WiseWoman 21:33, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:FHTW Logo rgb.jpg
[edit]Image:FHTW Logo rgb.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

New name
[edit]- This university changed its name form "Fachhochschule für ..." into "Hochschule für ..."!
So, the new article was necessary. --Sevilla1508 (talk) 00:26, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
Per WP:EN, I would like to suggest changing the title of this article to "Berlin University of Applied Sciences", followed by official German name and abbreviation (HTW). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Universities_in_Germany has the 8 names of similar universities, in the following forms:
- Munich University of Applied Sciences (city first, 6 articles)
- University of Applied Sciences Koblenz (city last, 2 articles)
(It also has 6 articles with the Hochschule or Fachhochschule in the title, but they are mostly universities of arts and music. ) The English version of the university's official website gives the German name, followed by simply "University of Applied Sciences". The website a bit out of date -- it still explains what a Fachhochschule is. Google doesn't have very many hits in English. In German, it seems that this school is usually referred to as "HTW Berlin". Margin1522 (talk) 07:08, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
- The title "Berlin University of Applied Sciences" would be confusing as there are at least three larger Universities of Applied Sciences in Berlin, possibly even some more smaller ones. HTW is the largest one but does not claim to be the Berlin university. They always either go by full names or use their short name: "HTW Berlin", "HWR Berlin" and "Beuth". --93.220.98.15 (talk) 20:07, 24 January 2015 (UTC)

- Support: Many people wouldn't even know what the initials stand for, but would know it is a term used for a university. —BarrelProof (talk) 17:49, 19 March 2017 (UTC)
