Merger proposal

[edit]

I propose merging Shir Berenj into Rice pudding. Shir Berenj is local name of Rice pudding in Iran (Persian Language). Kidsonthemoon (talk) 13:44, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose, given that the this is a notable type of rice puddling, reasonably distinguished from others, such as the Iranian sholezard. Klbrain (talk) 08:45, 17 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Closing, given the uncontested objection and no support, having left a year for discussion. Klbrain (talk) 13:35, 17 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sliced and eaten like cake?

[edit]

The 'alternative version' apparently commonly eaten in the north of England and is cut into slices and 'eaten like cake' - this is something I have never heard of, and I have lived in the north of England all my life. In England, rice pudding is commonly made with short grain rice, milk, sugar and butter and baked in the oven for about 1½ hours. There is (apparently) something called 'rice pudding cake' but this isn't common, nor is it exactly a type of rice pudding. I strongly suspect the information about rice pudding being sliced and eaten like cake is false. Matt (talk) 11:13, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Why were the edits reverted?

[edit]

I have a scholarship background... And kept neutrality and quoted sources. Tentmaker Prashanth (talk) 16:57, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The references weren't reliable sources. Blogs and recipe sites aren't strong enough references. Sub sections should ask questions like "where did rice pudding come from?". ThaddeusSholto (talk) 17:00, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
