First stab
[edit]Right now, this article is in no way good: I'm hoping to flush out some fellow Dawn Powell fans to expand it. I've jotted down a set of semi-organized facts. Hope you're out there to help.

Still a stub?
[edit]Why does this still need a stub tag? Perhaps an {{expand}} tag would be more appropriate; or, if there's really a huge amount more to do, perhaps make this explicit by adding headers for "missing" sections. Or if the real object is to get further input, perhaps list in on RfC. Alai 05:54, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Doesn't look like a stub to me.--BaronLarf 11:28, Apr 4, 2005 (UTC)
Excellent! I'd never heard of {{expand}} before. That's much better.

Glad to be of service... I'm still finding templates I'd never heard of, generally immediately after doing something that would have required the template, had I but heard of it, in order to be able to... Alai 03:20, 5 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Jacqueline Miller Rice
[edit]Jacqueline is quoted in the introduction to the paperback edition (1990) of "The Locusts Have No King" by John Guare and leaves a favorable impression, someone Dawn would have chosen as executrix. In the paperback edition of "The Wicked Pavillion" (1990) "Grateful acknowledgement is made to the following people, who helped in the preparation of this volume: .....,Jacqueline Rice, ......" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.225.177.80 (talk) 19:05, 1 October 2016 (UTC)

Ms Powell has returned in the latest issue of the New Yorker, December 3, 2018, pp48-53. It's a reprinted article entitled "A Diamond to Cut New York" and consists of entries selected from her journals, running from March 30, 1933 to March 8, 1963, about two years before her death. The entries discuss her view of writers and writing.Kinsler33 (talk) 23:38, 2 December 2018 (UTC)
