UK-specific regulations
[edit]The section on UK-specific regulations states that pets cannot travel in or out of the UK in the cabin. I believe that this is only true for travel into the UK (in fact, I have taken a pet out of the UK in-cabin). Unless someone has a reference to UK regulations that prohibit carrying pets out of the UK in an airplane cabin, I will remove that part. It is, in fact, true that UK regulations prohibit carrying a pet to the UK in-cabin, but any prohibitions going out of the UK are imposed by airlines (e.g. British Airways doesn't permit it) or the destination countries. - Best to find a source and clarify rather than just chop it. Montanabw(talk) 07:40, 5 May 2017 (UTC)
- Well, it's tough to find a source for non-existence of regulations. I can find sources for regulations regarding travel into the UK but not for travel out of the UK. So I'm going to chop it, and if anyone finds a source for regulations for travel out of the UK, they can add it back with those sources cited.Klausness (talk) 20:35, 6 May 2017 (UTC)
(context unclear)
[edit]I used Guatemala as example because I brought my dog Boddhi there from the UK: I also learnt all about Pet passport taking him to Europe various times. Good to see this article in healthy shape. Squiquifox 23:27, 5 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Two Questions
[edit]What sorts of pets are allowed? By the rabies vaccine, it seems to be restricted to mammals. Could I get one for my Sun Conure?
Where is it allowed? The article mentions Europe, it's not clear what the status is from country to country.
If anybody could answer these, that'd be nice (I probably won't see a response, I'm suggesting this for the article).

update needed with new pet travel schemes
[edit]UK has a seperate pet travel scheme and now the EU has their own
- "Can I still get a Pet Travel Scheme Certificate?
No. Only Pet Travel Scheme Certificates issued before 1 October 2004 will be accepted to enter France. Pets travel scheme certificate issued from 1 October 2004 are not valid and do not permit the entrance to France. You should obtain an EU pet passport. The EU pet passport applies to movement of dogs, cats and ferrets between Member States." source http://www.consulfrance-londres.org/spip.php?article537 Lisa.Cinciripini (talk) 22:29, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
UK rail/ferry section unclear
[edit]"passengers travelling with animals by rail or ferry to or from the UK must have access to a vehicle, as you cannot current take animals directly on foot by Eurostar or ferry."
This isn't very clear. If I have access to a vehicle, why would I travel by train? Where do I need the vehicle? Can anyone clarify? Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mausch11 (talk • contribs) 03:47, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
