The result of the debate was - should be merged
This page enumerates the 14 principles by which Maimonides determines which laws mentioned in the Pentateuch are to be counted under the 613 commandments it traditionally contains. While the content may be revelant under 613 mitzvot it is much too limited for its own article. Additionally, shorashim in Hebrew also has a grammatical connotation, which the article should be about.
- Merge with 613 mitzvot and delete. JFW | T@lk 23:30, 20 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Wouldn't a merge with Jewish principles of faith make more sense, particularly for the second half of the article about Albo etc.? Jayjg 00:19, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- 152.131.9.69 added the Albo shorashim later. This content should, of course, go to the page you suggested. 152.131.9.69 is upset with me (see Talk:Shorashim). JFW | T@lk 01:20, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)

- Merge anywhere or keep on its own, but keep the content and keep as at least a redirect. Samaritan 01:05, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)
I am user 152.131.9.69. I did not see this suggestion to merge this document with the 613 mitzvot. This is fine with me. I did express some frustration because I had spent a large portion of a day collecting the information for the page, which Jfdwolff wanted to just obliterate because didn't think it important enough to be in the encyclopedia. I am admittedly a newbie. but this comment to put on the 613 page was not mentioned in the talk for the article at all. It was just on this page, which I didn't even see yesterday. This encyclopedia thing is much more complex than just a simple wiki. And I have no objection to merging information. I just have an objection to deciding (with no discussion on Talk) to delete someone else's hard work. - (unsigned)
- Since author apparently sees merge with 613 mitzvot as appropriate and no one strongly disagrees, let's do that. -- Jmabel | Talk 09:16, Dec 22, 2004 (UTC)
