"Little Hitler"
[edit]I notice you added this sentence to the Hitler (disambiguation) page under the "Little Hitler" section: "A court ruling has made this insult criminal in Alabama". Do you have a source for that? I couldn't find anything on google, and it seems blatantly unconstitutional to me. -R. fiend 13:55, 15 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Help
[edit]Calling for backup. Help save List of incidents famously considered great blunders. A wonderfully useful article and the subject of a number of books and documentaries. Viciously attacked by deletionists. It does have a few supporters, but our voices are being drowned out. Please help save this article! - Pioneer-12 07:08, 24 Apr 2005 (UTC)
THANK YOU!!!
[edit]Your noticing the wiki origin of the one article prevented me from making a copvio entry (well for more than a couple minutes) on something else. I realllly hate fine print at the bottom of articles now... =)

Important VFD
[edit]Please see the VFD for commons:List of victims of the 1913 Great Lakes storm. This is of vital importance. This list and others like it are being pushed off of the entire Wikimedia project. It started at Wikipedia, where they were VFDd in favor of moving to Wikisource/Commons. Now they are being VFDd off Wikisource (they don't really belong there, since they are not original source texts), with people there saying they should be on WP/Commons, and it is also being VFDd on Commons, where people don't realize that Commons accepts texts (says so right on the Main Page). This will set a precedent for any user-created lists. -- BRIAN0918 22:48, 30 July 2005 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Doug-forrester2.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Doug-forrester2.JPG. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags.

George Allen
[edit]Before you expend all the effort to redo all the llnks, perhaps we should encourage a discussion on the topic of the proper name for the article, this will need to be done eventually, why not do it this week? I left a note on the article's talk page to start things off. I have no personal attachment to any article name, but I don't want people to have to go through a disambiguation page, or double redirects if this is the one person of this name most are searching for. Hi! Thanks for your edits at The Da Vinci Code - you seem to be re-adding material that was specifically split out to other articles in order to maintain the focus and size of this article. Your criticism trivia is covered at Criticisms of The Da Vinci Code in greater detail. Details about the movie are covered at The Da Vinci Code (film). Both of those "sub" articles are mentioned and linked to already. Are you proposing merging those sub-articles back into the primary one? Kuru talk 01:37, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
Gay vs. homosexual
[edit]Thank you for taking an interest in bettering the quality of LGBT articles. I am altering your "fix" of renaming "gay" to "homosexual" in some cases due to accuracy issues and common usage concerns. - Davodd 00:58, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
Proposal on Notability
[edit]Because you're a member of the Association of Inclusionist Wikipedians, I'm notifying you that the inclusionist proposa Wikipedia:Non-notabilityl is in progress to define the role of notability in articles. Please help us make this successful! Also note the proposal Wikipedia:Importance is a deletionist proposla that seeks to officially introduce notabiltiy for the first time. Make sure this is defeated! --Ephilei 22:32, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:BrubeckQuartet.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:BrubeckQuartet.JPG. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

AfD nomination of How to keep an idiot busy for hours
[edit]An editor has nominated How to keep an idiot busy for hours, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/How to keep an idiot busy for hours and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. --Ng.j 18:47, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
Hello Calmypal, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:Pretzel Logic album.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Calmypal/Images. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not readd the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 05:33, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
Image:DickParry.PNG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:DickParry.PNG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 20:39, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:The First 20 Million Is Always the Hardest.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:The First 20 Million Is Always the Hardest.jpg. Copyright problems with Image:Pinkfloyd-vegman.ogg
[edit]Orphaned non-free media (Image:Pinkfloyd-vegman.ogg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Pinkfloyd-vegman.ogg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 20:07, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Image:NixonResignationLetter.gif
[edit]A tag has been placed on Image:NixonResignationLetter.gif requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[Talk:Image:NixonResignationLetter.gif|the article's talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
