Hello, welcome to Wikipedia. Here's some tips:
- If you made any edits before you got an account, you might be interested in assigning those to your username.
- You can sign your name using three tildes, like ~~~. If you use four, you can add a datestamp too.
- If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
- If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page.
Other useful pages are: how to edit, how to write a great article, naming conventions, manual of style and the Wikipedia policies.
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Angela. 23:36, Feb 3, 2004 (UTC)
Hello Ted, could you please indicate the source and copyright status of the images you included in the Granger's articles you created? To do so, just click on the images; this will take you to the image description page. Then edit that page to state where the image come from. Have fun on Wikipedia! Lupo 10:22, 4 Feb 2004 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading the image
I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use {{gfdl}} if you release it under the GFDL, or {{fairuse}} if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know where you got the image and I'll tag it for you. Thanks, Kbh3rd 01:46, 20 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Thanks for the info – I've marked it {{PD}} and added your note to the image's talk page. We've tagged about 31 thousand images with about 17 thousand left to go, and too many with no information on their source get tagged as {{unverified}}. -- Kbh3rd 20:02, 27 Dec 2004 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Trimble.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Trimble.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:39, 12 July 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:39, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

NowCommons: File:Mcdowell.jpg
[edit]File:Mcdowell.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Ephraim McDowell, statue by Charles H. Niehaus.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore.
