The article says that it is illegal to name one's child Monica in Equatorial Guinea. But why is it illegal? That is a very strange law and it would be interesting to know what the purpose of it is. Everyking 03:57, 4 September 2005 (UTC)
- I've removed the claim "In Equatorial Guinea, it is illegal to name your child Monica" pending verification. I'll put a message on Meweight's page to ask him what his source was for this. --Spondoolicks 13:44, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
is it objective to say how the word monica is to be pronounced. in RP english, it would be MO ni ka, you can't say it is pronounced one way - it implies that speakers with regional accents are pronouncing things wrong. 1:28 4th sept 05
The item "Monica" in baroque music
[edit]There exists a kind of melody or a kind of dancing form within italian baroque music named "Monica". I'm just working on the German Wp article Bernardo Storace (1637-1707); there is written (translated in English):
In Storaces time, there are known melodies or dances, like Passamezzo, Romanesca, Spagnoletta, Monica etc., they are guided by the example of Girolamo Frescobaldi (1583-1643) ....
Can anyone tell me the nearer properties of this kind of "Monica"? --Wilhelmus Legrant (talk) 09:59, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
