In the year 2084, corporations are in power. While traditional governments retain de facto control over the dominant countries of America, the New European Union, the Eastern Alliance, and Australia, the actual power was long ago passed on to the stalwarts of capitalism, the corporations themselves. In the early part of the century, corporate interests became the lifeblood of the birth and longetivity of many political careers. As they slowly integrated themselves into the political machine itself, corporate and public interest silently became one. At this point, the aim of legislation ceased to benefit the people up until the point that they were the necessary building blocks of the organizations they served. Massive deregulation bent at increasing shareholder profits set off a feeding frenzy of mergers, with corporations buying and assimilating as many other companies as possible, until only 5 Corporations remained in a perpetual stalemate. This stalemate is intentional, however, as the complete assimilation of all corporations would then paradoxically be recognized as a new form of government. It is only in this state of perceived competition that these corporate bodies can exist, for if one day they should become one, then it would provide a central target for the one thing it fears the most: revolution.

It is in this climate that we are introduced to Justin. He is a high school dropout, but more importantly he is a prized and valued employee of the second largest corporation, InfoCorp.
